ELLIE-MAE MAKES FRONT PAGE

The poster used on the front page of this year’s 25th Anniversary edition of the Clacton Carnival newspaper is by Ellie-Mae Young, aged 9, a pupil at Coppins Green Primary School.  It was selected from the Prizewinners of the Clacton Carnival Poster Competition, held earlier this year, as being the most suitable and clearly depicting this year’s Carnival theme of ‘Carnival goes European’.

The free Carnival Newspaper is a joint venture between the Carnival Association and the Clacton Lions Club with all the profits going to local charities.  Over the 25 years it has been in production it has raised over £67,000.

30,000 copies have been printed and will be distributed to all homes, Hotels and Holiday Camps in the Clacton area and also St. Osyth. They will also be available from the Clacton Gazette Office and the Tourist Information Centre from the beginning of August.

Clacton Carnival week is 13th – 19th August
