CLACTON CARNIVAL GOES VIRTUAL

* Important race update from Nice Work about our race due to take place in August *

Thank you for bearing with us whilst we waited for guidance from England Athletics to make a decision regarding next month's Clacton Half Marathon and 10k.

We have been doing our best, working with The Clacton Carnival Committee to keep people informed using email and social media. If you have not seen any of our posts about the decision to postpone races, you can find background information on our website here.

All live events continue to be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the latest guidance introduces several measures to ensure the safety of runners, staff and the general public.

Races are starting to resume albeit with limited numbers on the start line and with wave starts. We take our responsibilities to everyone involved with our events very seriously and whilst we have developed processes to manage the risks associated with Covid-19 we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Clacton Half Marathon & 10k. For those who have participated before you will know that the route uses the busy promenade and with this in mind we feel we will be unable to provide a Covid secure event and meet all the current recommended guidelines.

Given the current uncertainty of when races will resume, it has not been possible to rearrange the race for this year - primarily due to a building and crowded race calendar towards the end of this year. And so we will look, instead, to postpone the race to 2021. The provisional date of next year's Clacton Half Marathon and 10k will be 15th August.

All runners who have booked the event have been contacted so please check your inboxes.

Thank you once again for your patience and stay safe.
