Clacton Carnival Week 2014
9th – 15th August
Clacton’s fun-packed Carnival Week will soon be here and once again.
This
week of events will entertain local
residents and holidaymakers while raising much needed funds for many local
charities.
Carnival Week
starts with the Carnival Procession on Saturday 9th August and the
theme is ‘FAIRY TALES’. The Charity to benefit
from the collection is the local branch of the RNLI who need to upgrade some
items of protective clothing for the Crew to improve their safety, efficiency
and comfort whilst they are at sea. This is a very worthy cause and we are sure
it will be well supported by the public.
A NEW EVENT this year is the Carnival Fun Runs being held in association with
Tri& Tri Again and Nice Work. There’s a half Marathon, 10k run and a Golden Mile
for families to take part in. These
are taking place on Sunday 10th August on the morning of the Family Fun Day,
which is back by popular demand. This
will once again be a full afternoon of fun and entertainment for the whole
family.
Last year, we were able to give away over £11,000 in donations to more than 40
charities as a result of a very successful Carnival Week. We hope we can do even
better this year.
