LOOKING AHEAD TO AN EXCITING 2016 CLACTON CARNIVAL

This year’s Clacton Carnival promises to be an exciting time with 13 events spread over 9 days with something for everyone.  This week of fun and fundraising regularly manages to help around 40 local charitable organisations with a substantial amount in donations.

Clacton Carnival 2016 has a change of venue for two of its main events as The Donkey Derby and the Fête will be held at Alton Park Junior School.

After losing the venue the Carnival had used at Gainsford Avenue for many years, last year they moved to the Tendring Education Centre but the parking there was inadequate and this should not be a problem at Alton Park Junior School.

The Carnival Week starts with the Procession on Saturday 13th August and finishes with the Clacton Half Marathon on Sunday 21st August. There is no big event on Sunday 14th August but there will be a Car Boot Sale at the Alton Park Junior School site. All other events will be at the usual venues.

To avoid the disappointments in recent years when the Fireworks on the Thursday evening have had to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions causing financial losses they will not take place this year. However, there will be a Fête with some different attractions including musical entertainment throughout the evening and an animal farm especially for the children.
