CHILDRENS POSTER COMPETITION
2013
Yet again Clacton Carnival had a great response from
their invitation to Schools and Youth
groups to take part in the Children's Poster
Competition and 220 posters were submitted. Five
Schools and five youth groups took part. The Committee
would like to thank Space Kingdom who
sponsored the Competition with some great prizes. The
Judges were Kelly Roberts and Caroline
Hunt from Space Kingdom and Lorraine Manners and
Christine Bright from Clacton Library.
With the Carnival theme of "Musicals " this year, many
of the posters depicted musical shows
such as the Lion King, Shrek and Wizard of Oz along
with others of Carnival events of the week.
Prizes, certificates and rosettes where presented to
the winners by the Carnival Queen and her
Princesses at a Prize Winners’ Evening held at Space
Kingdom, Stephenson Road, Clacton on
Thursday 13th June. ‘Buzz’ the Space Kingdom Mascot
was there too and the children got to play
in the Kingdom afterwards.
The winning posters will be on display in Clacton
Library from 17th June -12th July. Carnival
would like to thank all those who helped to make this
year's Poster Competition such a success,
including Clacton Library for a Collection and Display
point for posters, the Sponsors and
Judges for taking on the Challenging task and lastly
the Schools and Youth Groups for taking part.
