KIMBERLEY CROWNED CARNIVAL QUEEN
16 year old Kimberley Primmer has been crowned Clacton Carnival Queen for 2013.
Kimberley is
a 6th form student at the Clacton Coastal Academy studying for her
‘A’ levels. 12 year old Jenita Johnson and 11 year old Megan London also pupils
at the Clacton Coastal Academy were chosen as her Princesses.
The Selection and Crowning took place at a Disco at Sacketts Grove Caravan Park
on Friday 22nd March. Although the number of entrants was quite low this year
the Judges had a difficult task as the standard was so high.
The Judges were: Lisa Percival; Sharon Rawlinson, 1977 Clacton Carnival
Queen; Ron Londors, Vice President, Lions Club of Clacton on sea and Tony Timms,
Manager of Magic City in Clacton. The girls were each given a Voucher by Gary
McNamara of ‘Hair 4 U’ and their prize money, sponsored by GCS Alarms, will be
presented to them later in the year.
Kimberley, Jenita and Megan will be representing Clacton at various other
Carnivals in the area throughout the summer. The highlight for them will be
leading the Clacton Carnival Procession on Saturday 10th August, when the theme
will be ‘MUSICALS’. This will be the start of a very busy Carnival Week raising
funds for many local charities.
