The 2009 Clacton Carnival Court

17 year old Layna Sack has been crowned Clacton Carnival Queen for 2009, 2 years after serving as Princess.  In September she will be a student at the Colchester Institute where she will be studying Travel and Tourism.  12 year old Megan Bush, a pupil at Clacton County High School, and 15 year old Amy Miller, were chosen as her Princesses.

 The Selection and Crowning took place at a Disco at the Kingscliff Hotel on Friday 3^rd April. It was a closely fought contest with 2 entries for Queen and 15 for Princess.  The Judges were: Janet and Peter Dewing, from GCS Alarms who are sponsoring the girls’ cash prizes, Chloe Limer, Restaurant Manager at the Kingscliff Hotel and Alan Mercer, Vice President of the Lions Club of Clacton on sea.

 Layna, Megan and Amy will be representing Clacton at various other Carnivals in the area throughout the summer and leading the Clacton Carnival Procession on Saturday 8^th August.
